We're not sure whether Prince George was being a little bit naughty, or was overcome with a bout of shyness as he arrived in Poland for Prince William and Kate Middleton's official state visit this morning.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and their two children, George and Charlotte, have just started an official visit from Poland to Germany after attending the final at the famous British tennis tournament in Wimbledon.

George, who turns four this Saturday, needed a little encouragement from his father before walking off the plane.

Kate and William, both 35, were in high spirits as they stepped off the plane and greeted by a welcoming committee at Warsaw Chopin Airport amid light rain showers. Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte, who was held by Kate, looked far more relaxed, and reportedly "smiled in her mother's arms and waved to onlookers".

The vessel continued circling the lake, unmanned, and was only brought under control after a rope was thrown into its propeller. CO Carlile was able to use a nearby personal watercraft and jump onto the runaway boat while both boats were still in motion.

"The duke and duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it", a Kensington Palace spokesman said.

During their meeting, George and Charlotte stayed with their nanny, Maria Borrallo, at Belvedere Palace.

As guests of President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata, the royals will visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum and the former concentration camp Stutthof, which Nazi Germany set up in 1939 in what was then the free city of Danzig and is now the Polish city of Gdansk.

On Monday evening, Prince William will make his only public speech during a formal dinner in honour of Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Łazienki park, while the British ambassador to Poland will read a letter from the British monarch.

'They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week, ' they added.
