Provided the poster is indeed the real deal, the Xiaomi 5X will be priced at 1999 yuan in China, which converts to roughly $294 based on the current exchange rate. The poster also revealed key specifications of the smartphone. Recently, an image of a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone has leaked online, and this report suggests the device in the picture is Xiaomi 5X.

As per the leak, Xiaomi Mi 5X will come with 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. It seems Wu has ended his previous contract with Huawei Honor and is now with Xiaomi to probably advertise the new sub-brand from Xiaomi. This move, which is unexpected from a "online only" brand, hits at a possibility of a sub brand launch, which could enable to company to deploy more products at various price tiers. Consequently, this leak should be taken with a pinch of salt as the handset's specs could change when the phone is officially announced. All of these internal memory storages can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It'll have a 12MP dual rear-camera setup and a 16MP front shooter. Powered by a 5,300mAh battery, the smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with its custom MIUI. The smartphone will be featuring a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device.

In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will support dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM configuration (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD) slot. Other connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, IR Blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

China Has Banned Winnie the Pooh Once Again
Posts comparing Chinese president Xi Jinping to the cartoon bear - a longstanding joke in China - were also taken down. The Chinese government is famous for censoring particular words around the time of big political events.

Coming to the high variant of Xiaomi 5X, it is speculated to come equipped with a Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6GB of RAM. The poster does not mention anything in regards to the resolution of the display, so that is something that will have to wait until details are revealed by Xiaomi.

However, these are all leaks and rumours, we will request our readers to wait till the official disclosure from the company for any confirmation.
