White House reshuffles legal team as investigation gathers momentum

The White House said Cobb will work inside the White House to help the President as "special counsel".

The White House announced Saturday that it has hired attorney Ty Cobb, who, as a White House official confirmed earlier to ABC News, will serve as part of an internal legal team to manage matters related to the ongoing investigations into Russian election interference and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

A bio on the website of Cobb's former firm, Hogan Lovells, says that "Clients managing crises, allegations of corruption, and other critical matters turn to Ty to guide them".

The US intelligence community alleged that Russia meddled in the US presidential race previous year and there were connections between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. He earned law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and attended Harvard University as an undergraduate, it said. In addition to Kasowitz, others members on Trump's Russian Federation team outside of the White House include lawyer Jay Sekulow and public relations consultant Mark Corallo.

However, Jamie Grayclick, a politically-related attorney representing Jared Kouchner, #President Trump's son-in-law, transfers all responsibility for Russia's probe into Abe Lowell, a prominent Washington defense lawyer. She will hand over representation on matters related to the Russian Federation investigation to another powerful Democratic lawyer, Abbe D. Lowell.
