Wedding Dress Chains Closing Panics Thousands of Brides

The chain has at least 60 shops in the United States, and its dresses are sold in more than 1,400 spots worldwide. The Sun Sentinel reports the Florida-based company filed for bankruptcy protection after failing to find a buyer.

Some Alfred Angelo customers who hadn't received their orders took to Twitter on Friday to voice their frustration.

Despite going through the struggle of finding a new dress, bride-to-be Kylie Lambert says she feels bad for the Alfred Angelo employees.

To receive the discount, brides and their parties can visit any David's Bridal location and present an original Alfred Angelo branded receipt.

Other national chains are also trying to help out, discounting dresses by as much as 30 percent, for affected customers.

And The Bridal Boutique of Naperville, Ill. tweeted an offer for 20% off wedding apparel for affected brides.

"My wedding ... four of the six of my bridesmaids don't have their dresses, but they've already paid for them in full", bride-to-be Morgan Butcher said.

As important as the dress is, Martin said she hopes those who weren't as lucky have a happy ending no matter what.
