Defending champion Henrik Stenson will partner former world number one Jordan Spieth in the first two rounds of The Open at Royal Birkdale. He will be playing with American Ryan Moore and England's Chris Wood. "We certainly need to step that up quite a lot if we want to have anything to do with it next week".

After discussing his time as the Champion Golfer of the Year, the charismatic Swede was driven to the famous Southport links to prepare to defend his title.

Kim Si-woo of South Korea will go out with Stenson and Spieth, while U.S. Open victor Brooks Koepka is playing with local favorite Tommy Fleetwood and world No. 2 Hideki Matsuyama.

Masters champion Sergio Garcia will be joined by Jason Day and Zach Johnson, the 2015 champion.

Australia's Ryan McCarthy, England's Laurie Canter and Colombia's Sebastian Munoz are in the final group at 4:16pm.
