Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday said that his son Tejashwi. "Tejashwi will not resign at any cost".

He was responding to questions over Janata Dal-United requests that the RJD would have to decide the fate of Tejashwi Yadav.

This assertion from the RJD chief thus brought an end to speculations that Tejashwi Yadav might step down from the post to save the ruling alliance. "He will not resign".

The Grand Alliance comprises the JD-U, RJD and the Congress. JD-U Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told the media that his party wanted that those facing allegations of corruption should come out with facts in the public domain.

"Our party is not satisfied".

According to him, Nitish can not go against the great alliance which includes RJD whose chief is Lalu Prasad Yadav, father of Tejashwi.

Sonia Gandhi has reportedly spoken to both JD (U) president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.

On July 7, the CBI registered a corruption case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav and others over allegations of awarding tenders for development, maintenance and operation of hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006 in return for land.

The RJD claims the CBI action against Tejashwi Yadav is a political conspiracy to destabilize Bihar's ruling Grand Alliance and "Nitish Kumar knew about it".

Bihar deputy chief minister has been pushed into a corner to resign over charges of alleged corruption as BJP-led-NDA government is tightening the screws on his family through various raids by CBI and Income tax department. "It will take only 5 minutes for him to quit the government", Alok said. "People across the country are fully aware of Nitish Kumar's clean image and his stand of zero tolerance against corruption".

It is true that the RJD's swagger is a bit clunky because the main opposition party in the state, the BJP, has already volunteered external support - siding with Nitish Kumar in a vote to keep him in office - if Lalu Yadav cuts off his supply. Lalu, who was the railway minister then, has been accused of accepting three acres of prime land for awarding the contract to Sujata Hotel Private Limited.
