Sevilla seal deal to sign Nolito from Manchester City

Sevilla have announced the signing of Manchester City forward Nolito for a reported €9m, subject to a medical.

A decent start to his Premier League career under Pep Guardiola quickly came crashing down following a number of disappointing performances and some disciplinary issues, with the Spaniard having become a forgotten man by the season's end.

Various news sources in Spain including Orgullodenervion and Marca report that a fee of €8million to €9million has been agreed between the two clubs and it will be a permanent deal.

The move comes shortly after Sevilla lost Vitolo to Atletico Madrid, in a move that has left the 27-year-old's former club considering legal action for flaunting a transfer ban Madrid is now serving.

Nolito was a force to be reckoned with during his three seasons with Celta, having never failed to score fewer than 12 goals per term.

Nolito joined City on a four-year contract for £13.8m from Celta Vigo last summer after scoring 39 goals in 103 appearances for the Spanish outfit.

"Sevilla and Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle, pending a medical and the signing of the contract, for the transfer of Nolito to the Seville side for the next three seasons", a statement on the club's official website confirmed.

However, he made just one start for Pep Guardiola's side in the second half of the campaign.
