LVMPD would not confirm the information about the threatening note.

Police said the break-in occurred early Saturday in Heller's office near Durango Drive in southwest Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Sun reported. A Metro Police spokesperson declined to reveal further details, saying the investigation was ongoing.

Neither the LVMPD nor Heller's office immediately responded to TPM's requests for comment. Dean Heller and a threatening note addressed to the senator was left behind, according to The Hill.

Heller is among a handful of Republicans who have come out against the Republican health care bill.

Widely seen as a potential dissenting voice on Senate Republicans' Obamacare repeal bill, Heller has faced constituent pressure in recent weeks to block the bill from receiving a vote in the Senate. The announcement came after McCain's office said he would remain in Arizona next week following a procedure to remove a 2-inch (5-cm) blood clot from above his left eye.
