As the Presidential Elections 2017 is underway, Congress-led Opposition Nominee Meira Kumar stated that her battle is of ideologies and she has urged the collegiums to listen to their conscience for the best interest of the country. As many as 17 non-NDA parties, including Congress, the Left parties, TMC, BSP, SP, DMK, NCP, RJD, JMM JD-S and NC, are supporting Meira Kumar.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is still undecided on supporting Congress' joint opposition candidate Meira Kumar in the Presidential poll, scheduled for 17 July.

He said the party has been with Kumar throughout her candidature process and during the filing of her nomination papers.

While the election for the presidential post will be held on 17 July, the vice-presidential elections, who is also the chairman of Rajya Sabha, will be held on 5 August. We have MP, seven MLAs from Telangana and two MLAs from Maharashtra.

R. Kelly Is Reportedly Keeping Women Captive In An Abusive Sex Cult
One of the women in question, a singer from Georgia, was contacted by the police at her parents request for a "well-being check". Kelly, 50, also reportedly controls almost every aspect of the women's lives-telling each one what to eat and how to dress.

At one stage, MIM contemplated to abstain from the voting but later made a decision to support Meira Kumar on the request of Sonia Gandhi.

The relationship between the two parties soared so much that, Congress has even accused MIM of acting hand in glove with BJP.

If MIM abstains from the Presidential poll, it may not cause any major damage to Meira Kumar, but it could be a setback to the Congress which is trying to sew up a grand "secular" alliance against the ruling BJP-led NDA coalition.

Sources in the political corridors said that MLAs close to Phoolka may follow suit and vote against Meira Kumar and in favour of Ram Nath Kovind.
