Plane's tyre BURSTS during take-off at London Gatwick airport

The runway at Gatwick Airport is closed after a plane's tyre burst on take-off. The main runway is now operational but delays are occurring.

The Air Canada Rouge incident happened around lunchtime and prompted an immediate inspection of the main runway for about half an hour.

The damaged tyre of the flight can be clearly seen in this photo taken be one of the passengers.

A spokesman for Gatwick Airport said: "While the aircraft is being inspected and while the runway is being inspected there are no flights departing or arriving at Gatwick".

Twitter has been awash with passengers stuck on flights unable to leave.

The firm owned 9,384 shares of the Internet television network's stock after buying an additional 3,126 shares during the period. After a recent look, shares have been seen 17.34% from the 200-day moving average, and 2.88% from the 50-day moving average.

"We apologise as flights for the rest of the day will experience delay and there will be some cancellations", the statement said.

A Toronto-bound flight was forced to return to London's Gatwick Airport Monday after a tire blew during takeoff.

It has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

Travellers are encouraged to check with their airline for information about their flights.
