Australia has urged Russian Federation to cooperate with new moves to prosecute suspected perpetrators, who brought down Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in July 2014, killing all 298 aboard.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on July 17, 2014, killing 283 passengers and 15 crewmembers, citizens of ten countries.

"Today, lighting the candles in memory, we bow our heads before 298 innocent victims of MH17 flight crash".

On the third anniversary of the disaster, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte unveiled the 25-metre-long monument in a park in the village of Vijfhuizen, near Amsterdam's Schiphol airport.

Last year, a Dutch-led team of worldwide investigators and public prosecutors alleged that a Russian missile transported into a rebel-held part of eastern Ukraine was used to shoot down the jet. The worldwide criminal probe has concluded that the missile was sacked from rebel-controlled territory by a mobile launcher trucked in from Russian Federation. Three years after Flight MH17 was shot down by a missile over war-torn Ukraine, more than 2,000 relatives gather to unveil a "living memorial" to their loved ones.
