Kid Rock to run for US Senate

The "Wasting Time" and "All Summer Long" rap rocker-turned-country singer tweeted on Wednesday that he's running for U.S. Senate in MI.

It appears that Kid Rock's run for the Senate in 2018 is officially happening.

"Kid Rock - yes, Kid Rock - tweeted that he's running for Senate in Michigan", Schumer wrote in an email.

He said last week that he plans on continuing to write and produce music during his presumed Senate run, saying "it's not a hoax".

Many media outlets and politicians have already written this campaign off as a publicity stunt or promotion for his music, but many high-profile individuals are taking this bid for office seriously.

The two remaining deals, for European theater operators Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group and Nordic Cinema Group, have not yet closed. The decision also reportedly bans Wanda from injecting any of its foreign assets into its listed company in China.

The singer - whose real name is Robert Ritchie - is considered by many a fiscally conservative but socially liberal Republican. "Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT", Rock promised.

Elizabeth Warren said, "I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?".

The Bay State senior senator then links to a fundraising page where donations are split between Michigan Democratic U.S. Sen. Schumer added that in the Trump era, "We can't afford to take this tweet as a joke". The singer endorsed President Trump in the last election and Mitt Romney back in 2012. The Kid Rock site redirects visitors to a third-party webpage, hosted by the Warner Bros. record label, to seal its sales. Debbie Stabenow, who Rock says "is better at playing politics": "Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind".

Rock, 46, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, insisted in a blog post last night that "it's not a hoax" and that he plans to be a "voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her (Stabenow) know that We the People are sick and exhausted of their (expletive)!"
