Justin Trudeau Meets Namesake, His Parents Are Syrian Refugees In Canada

The family's opportunity to flee Syria came five years into the atrocities of the war.

Although photos of the charming encounter show Prime Minister Trudeau happily snuggling his young namesake, baby Justin Trudeau seemed a bit less impressed with the meeting. As a way of thanking the Canadian Prime Minister for allowing Syrian refugees to enter the country, the couple chose to name their newborn son after him.

Mr Trudeau became prime minister in November 2015.

Either way, Justin Trudeau issued his "PM Mix playlist" on Spotify Saturday.

The child's mother, Afraa Hajj Hammoud, said her husband Mohammed Belal thought of the name - and she liked the idea. About 1,000 of them moved to Calgary.

In related news, Director John Rakolta, Jr. bought 10,000 shares of the business's stock in a transaction dated Thursday, May 4th. The rating was downgraded by Zacks on Friday, August 14 to "Buy". (NYSE:TXT) on Thursday, October 6 with "Outperform" rating.

Ms Hammoud told CBC it was an wonderful experience to meet the man who inspired their son's name and who made their new life possible.

'It will be a big story because you know, the Arabic name and the English name, there is a big difference, ' she said. "He held (the baby) and he said, 'This is Justin-Trudeau, ' and then he says, 'I appreciate that you named him after my name", she said further.

After US President Donald Trump in January first announced his travel ban barring immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries, Mr Trudeau struck a decidedly different tone on his Twitter.

The couple arrived in Montreal in February of a year ago in the midst of Canada's bitterly cold winter accompanied by their daughter Naya, who is 4, and their son Nael who is 3.
