Dragon Ball FighterZ producer confirms Trunks as a playable character

The 2D fighting game's producer also clarified how to pronounce its title. In the reveal trailer, seen above, Trunks can be seen fighting other popular Dragon Ball Z characters, including Vegeta and Frieza.

2018 can't come soon enough, no matter how much I believe that spray-painting seven tennis balls technically counts as finding all seven dragon balls.

The newest trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ showed off the first footage of Trunks, the fighter from the future. The characters Trunks was beating up in the reveal trailer will likely be included in the beta.

Announced during E3, Dragon Ball FighterZ is being developed by Arc System Works, those of Guilty Gear fame, and has been garnering quite a bit of interest.

The HTC U11 is already a fantastic smartphone and adding another choice for a hands-free assistant makes it even more compelling. Unlike Apple Siri which made its journey from a smartphone to a smart speaker, Amazon's Alexa did quite the opposite.

"The DRAGON BALL franchise is tailor suited for the fighting game genre, and DRAGON BALL FighterZ will be the next exciting addition to a long history of great fighting games", said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc upon the game's announcement in June.

But that's not all - a lucky few of you will actually be able to play this game months before it's scheduled to drop early next year.

To bring those who haven't been updated on the roster up to speed, GameSpot created an online gallery of the Dragon Ball FighterZ characters that have been confirmed so far. There are plans for various changes to stages as matches go on but no plans to implement cross-play between platforms.
