Chris Froome Can't Get Comfortable in Yellow

There's still a week to go in the Tour de France but race leader Chris Froome insisted that "every second counts" after surprisingly reclaiming the yellow jersey. Just before the climb I had a problem with my back wheel, it was damaged. After the summit, the Dutchman Bauke Mollema has emerged to reach the finish solo. 'I thought maybe, I wouldn't be able to get back up to the front, that it could be the yellow jersey changing shoulders again.

He started the day six seconds ahead of the three-time champion but, before yesterday's 15th stage, trailed Froome by 18 seconds after coming home 30th overall, 25sec behind stage 14 victor Michael Matthews of Team Sunweb.

Tour leader Chris Froome (Sky) admitted that he feared being unable to re-join the group of rivals after a spoke in his rear wheel broke with 38 kilometres to go after Bardet and his Ag2r-La Mondiale team begun riding hard. As he was losing time and seeing his lead slipping away, he traded wheels with teammate Michal Kwiatkowski (Poland) and lost less a minute of time.

After Federer raced to a 3-0 lead in the second set, Cilic cried while he was visited by a doctor and trainer, and during a later medical timeout, his left foot was retaped by the trainer. If things stay as they are, Froome's lead, coupled with his strength in Marseille, should be enough to secure victory.

Matthews won comfortably ahead of Olympic champion Greg Van Avermaet in the tough uphill sprint finish to the 181.5km stage from Blagnac to Rodez, with Norway's Edvald Boasson Hagen third.

Team Sky's Dave Brailsford said Chris Froome's mechanical problem on stage 15 could have ended his challenge, but the team reacted perfectly to the crisis. He managed to carry the yellow jersey in to the Tour de France's second and final rest day.

But Ag2r, unlike Fabio Aru's Astana or Rigoberto Uran's Cannondale-Drapac, demonstrated that they are capable of potentially putting Froome in the red.

Ads start appearing on some HTC QWERTY keyboards
HTC HAS TAKEN A LEAF out of Microsoft's book and has started serving up adverts to users of its smartphones. HTC users have recently reported of seeing ads while using the company's built-in keyboard TouchPal.

Froome was keen to thank all of his team-mates for their help, but it was the sight of Landa dropping back which was most notable. I gave it my maximum to get back up to the leaders.

"I really think I had the legs to win today".

"All the team did nice work", Landa said.

Sunday's 189.5km stage is perhaps the most handsome on this year's race, which organisers believe will showcase "exceptional landscapes that highlight the charm of France" as it passes through the stunning Massif Central mountain range.

I prefer to be ahead on GC at this point than having to make up time.

"There is a lot of trust, no doubt, no question", Team Sky manager Dave Brailsford said after the stage when asked about Landa's ambition.
