Leicester City could find it hard to stand in the way of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel moving to Manchester United this summer, if David de Gea - still a target for Real Madrid - does finally move away from Old Trafford.

United pulled out of talks with Real over Morata, after the Spanish giants refused to budge from their £79million valuation of the player.

Jose Mourinho instead turned his attention to Everton talisman Romelu Lukaku and splashed £75m on the Belgium global.

He said: "I can't say any word about a player who is a Chelsea player, it's hard it's the same with Morata, we have to respect the player, the club, the owner, the manager, I don't want to be disrespectful".

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho suggests that his side are no longer interested in signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid as the clubs could not reach an agreement.

"Yes, we have had interest, that is obvious and it's public".

Milan and Chelsea target Belotti absent from Torino kit launch
Antonio Conte has told the Spain global he is no longer needed and has not taken the striker on the Blues' pre-season tour. Chelsea are considering a move for the Italy global after losing out to Manchester United in the hunt for Romelu Lukaku .

"But we have not reached an agreement with his club and I don't think he can end with us". We do not determine what the price is of a player of Real Madrid, Real Madrid do that.

United insisted Lukaku was their "principle target" this summer despite having been locked in negotiations with Madrid since it became apparent that Antoine Griezmann would not join at the start of June.

"I enjoyed watching his evolution in Juventus and Madrid".

"He's the kind of player that everybody knows". Obviously there are other good strikers in football but the Premier League is a very specific habitat, a different habitat.

"He's intelligent, he's polite, we kept the contact, the feeling and now we are back together in different moments and I have no doubts it is going to work".
