Rain Chances Stay in the Forecast this Week; Increasing Mid-Week

Expect more clouds than sun Tuesday, with gusty west winds in the afternoon, forecasters said.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms likely after 4 p.m.; high near 85 with a low around 72. Some of the showers and storms that develop this afternoon could linger well into the night for portions of the state.

Today A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Northeast wind around 5 miles per hour becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Tonight, mostly cloudy, warm and muggy with showers and thunderstorms. Southeast winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. The afternoon might be wet in spots, but it should be mainly showers with limited thunder.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Wednesday night, with a low around 58. North northwest wind 5 to 9 miles per hour.

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies, with a high near 83. South, southeast wind 6 to 9 miles per hour.

Saturday night - A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Rain and thunderstorms today with heavy downpours possible. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday and Friday will both be sunny with highs near 87 degrees. Cloudy, with a low around 68.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and hot.

Mpumalanga: Fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in places from the afternoon, but cloudy along the escarpment in the evening with fog patches and drizzle.
