You know, the gym mechanic is something in Pokémon Go which we really, really want to improve, so that's gonna be the next big area for us.

Per the new memo, it stated that the gym will be closing out momentarily for a so-called "remodeling", as cited by VG24/7.

In preparation for some exciting new features, we'll be temporarily disabling Gyms starting June 19. This in-game event will feature Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon, huge XP bonuses for throwing Poke Balls accurately, and discounted Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop.

The capture mechanic is fun, but you're a lone wolf, you're going out there on your own.

A Niantic representative (NianticGeorge) also took it to Reddit to herald the looming gym closure.

Amazon's deal to buy Whole Foods crushes stocks of supermarkets
Whole Foods recently had come under pressure from activist hedge fund Jana Partners LLC, prompting it to overhaul its board. Whole Foods , a pioneer in natural and organic products, has 456 stores, which young, high-end shoppers flock to.

Pokemon Go's next chapter begins on Monday. This news was announced by Pokemon Go's official channels, including its support page and its the official Pokemon Go twitter account.

According to the moderators of The Silph Road, Pokemon GO gyms across the globe would temporarily be disabled sometime on June 19. With the game steadily approaching its first anniversary, the chances of Niantic debuting a number of new features in its most successful title definitely makes ideal sense.

People have been requesting PvP battles since launch so hopefully this is the new feature that is coming out soon.

There will be "more to come" on what that adjustment entails, but for now just know that they're going to close up in the near future and any assigned creatures will return to your party.
