Grenfell Tower disaster: Death toll rises to 79

Appreciation for the firefighters has poured out in the days following the destructive fire - on Sunday hundreds of people passionately applauded the heroic fire fighters arriving at the scene on an emotional Father's Day, where those dads lost in the disaster were remembered.

There was no public announcement from her management company or on her Twitter page - the only way her appearance came to light was by people recognising her.

At a daily briefing with reporters, May's spokeswoman said that on a second visit to the area, during which the prime minister was booed and heckled, May had listened carefully to the experiences of those on the ground. "She understood that immediate action needed to be taken to speed things up, and that's what she's done", the spokeswoman said.

The local authority has also begun a fire safety review on its housing blocks, in response to the Grenfell tragedy.

May's spokeswoman said later on Monday that staff from five government departments are now working on the ground, including officials from the Foreign Office.

One of the research groups was able, thanks to the data provided by Kepler, to make precise measurements of thousands of planets. Objects of interest identified by NASA's Kepler space telescope are eventually called "planet candidates" after further vetting.

One person wrote on the Facebook post: "It's fantastic that she stopped by to see you all", and another said: "I know you are back on duty today, and my thoughts are with you all".

Among the prominent protesters against the poor living conditions were Nadia Choucair, a Lebanese national, and Mariem Elgwahry, who are both feared to have died in the fire.

"We proactively manage this risk in a number of ways, especially through monitoring fire safety recommendations throughout the entire organisation". The investigation will look at how - but more importantly why this happened.

In a statement, Mr Disson's family said: "Our family are devastated at receiving the news that Tony sadly did not survive the fire at Grenfell Tower". At the time, William said it was "one of the most bad things I have ever seen", and the Queen said that the country should be "resolute in the face of adversity" in the wake of the tragedy.

An additonal 70 people are reportedly missing. Among the 79 victims that are dead or presumed dead was Khadija Saye-a 24-year-old British-Gambian photographer whose career was on the cusp of flourishing.
