However, fans have been warned that Eva won't accept Aidan and Maria's affair when she starts to take revenge on the couple.

Coronation Street is about to deliver more baby drama.

"She was like: 'Right, this is it, this is my Prince Charming.' She had given herself to him completely and then he has done this".

But, in a shocking twist, she will also discover that she is pregnant and becomes hell bent on getting revenge.

Tyldesley, 33, told The Mirror about the revenge plan.

When asked what she would say to her character, Catherine told us: "I think if Eva came to me and said what she had in her head I would tell her to walk away and have an incredible life and show him what he's missing". I don't think I would have done those things personally, but for me as an actress it is brilliant to play - it is really juicy stuff.

On Tuesday, Variety reported that Moffat and Gatiss are in the early stages of adapting the 1897 Bram Stoker novel for the BBC. Moffat will step down as head writer and executive producer of Doctor Who after this year's Christmas special.

But, wrapped up in his tryst with Maria, Aidan misses a text message from Eva, revealing she'll be back sooner than thought. Instead, she simply tells Aidan that she is pregnant and waits for his reaction, pretending that all is well with their relationship so she can plot a bigger revenge.

In a very un-soap manner, Eva decides not to confront her cheating fiancé and best pal straight away. She will stop at nothing to make sure he is deeply hurt.

Catherine said: "This makes things ten times worse".

Admitting that Eva's pregnancy news will turn from joy to fear, the actress added: "She would have been but it's just fear now". A week before it would've been all she's ever wanted, but coming at the same time she discovers the affair is heartbreaking.

The prospect of her mother Stella - played by Michelle Collins - excited Catherine, who has previously said: 'I'd love that - I loved working with [Michelle] so much'. Eva basically feels like her world is crumbling.

Coronation Street continues on ITV at 7.30pm.
