Chelsea stalwart offered contract by Birmingham City

Aside from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest when he was a youngster, Terry has spent his entire senior career to date at Chelsea and the 36-year-old is a true icon at Stamford Bridge, having made over 700 appearances for the club and won an array of trophies.

Birmingham City are keen to sign a new central defender this summer and while they have reportedly made an ambitious move for veteran Chelsea defender John Terry, Barnsley ace Roberts could be a more realistic target.

Although winning the Premier League in his final season, Terry featured just 14 times under Antonio Conte, who eased the long-time captain out of the picture.

Championship side Aston Villa have hit back at rivals Birmingham with a bigger offer to lure John Terry to Villa Park, according to The Daily Mirror.

Aston Villa have been cut from 5/1 last night to as short as 5/6 to sign John Terry this summer, with 9/4 now the best price available.
