It was only fitting that Koepka left Erin Hills with yet another record matched or broken.

Koepka's talent is boundless, and he just needed his breakout.

World number four Matsuyama started six shots behind Harman and he started quickly with three birdies in five holes. The only drama was if he'd become the first ever to finish at 17-under in a U.S. Open. Stricker tapped in for par. He earned $2.16 million, his nation's championship and the comfort of knowing the far-flung trips to Kenya and Kazakhstan and India and beyond are all in the rearview mirror. "I got in a hazard on one".

Koepka is one of those players that the smart guys like to put in their fantasy league.

"I learned a lot this week", he said.

Last seven major winners are first timers.

"I just hit a three-wood a touch left on 11, and I had to try and hit something out of the rough, and ended up in a tough spot behind the green", Fowler said. "I think they did a fantastic job". Another mid-range twisting birdie putt on the par-3 16th fell too, putting him a full four shots clear of the field and all but sealing the deal. The strongest gusts were Sunday morning and it tapered to a strong breeze by the afternoon. "And it's no surprise".

Harman's decline continued on the 13th, where he missed a short par putt to drop another stroke and fall two back of Koepka, who then made it doubly painful by making birdie at the 14th to go to 14-under. He then chipped to a few feet for a straightforward birdie to move to 13 under. On Sunday, it was set up at just 356 yards but was averaging a mean 4.51 scoring average.

Fleetwood began the day in a tie for second and made an encouraging start with a birdie from eight feet on the second. His round of 66 was over almost 90 minutes before Koepka strolled to the 18th green, with the tournament all but wrapped up. Matsuyama's 66 was the best round of the day. He finished at 16 under, good for his first major victory in the first Open at Erin Hills.

A point that seem to escape the grasp of Wallace , who became confrontational with Sekulow . He also added that he coordinated his decision with the US Attorney General and his deputy.

Other than him, nobody made a charge.

Rickie Fowler was two behind Harman on 10 under after a 68 which kept him firmly in contention.

One of the more disappointing showings belonged to Thomas, who followed his record-setting 63 in Saturday's third round with a three-over 75. Most recently, he finished tied for 11th in the 2017 Masters. His 5-under 283 was his lowest score to par in his 20 U.S. Open appearances.

At long last, Erin Hills is a U.S. Open-worthy course on Sunday. But the fairways were generous and the wind that serves as the course's best defense didn't kick up until the end. 12 and 13 and Koepka birdied Nos. Without a card on any tour when Koepka got out of Florida State, he filled his passport on the Challenge Tour with stamps from Kazakhstan to Kenya, Scotland and Spain, India and the Madeira Island.

Asked about the low point, he said it came one night in Scotland when he called his agent and said he wanted to come home. "I kind of wish I'd stuck with it".

"I just felt like I should be winning more ... and I just couldn't stand the fact that I'd only won once". Then James won a third with the Cleveland Cavaliers previous year.

Schauffele shot 69 to tie for fifth at 10 under in his first U.S. Open. More than worrying about the uncertainty of his career, he was trying to figure a way to close one of these big ones out.

HAIL THE KING: The 18th hole at Erin Hills had a special flag for the final round of the U.S. Open. "But can't complain the way I finished it off", Stricker said.
