Warriors taking on Spurs

As he did in game six of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Houston Rockets, Jonathon Simmons filled in admirably for Leonard Tuesday.

BOSTON LeBron James had 38 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Boston Celtics 117-104 on Wednesday night in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Davis Bertans dropped in 13 points, and Dewayne Dedmon had nine points to go with a team-high nine rebounds off the bench for the Spurs, whose reserves outscored their starters 53-47.

One ankle sprain appears to have drastically changed the competitive nature of this series.

We will have much more Brown later tonight. "We have to be the aggressors".

There wasn't a single point in the game where the Spurs could get any kind of grip on the game, as the Warriors opened with a 33-point quarter.

San Antonio would manage to trim just a single point off that deficit through the remainder of the quarter and would go into halftime trailing 72-44. The Spurs seemed much slower compared to the home-court Warriors. "We got here just in time".

Leonard is questionable for Game 3 of the series, and the Spurs desperately need after being routed in Game 2 without their star. His plus-minus average of 6.9 topped all National Basketball Association reserves who played at least 50 games.

"He's better than when I got in the league, a lot better", Brad Stevens said. "So thankfully, I'm playing well, playing aggressive and confident".

Driver crashes auto into pedestrians in New York City's Times Square
Witnesses said the driver appeared to intentionally drive into a group of people, but police are still investigating the motive. More than 300,000 people, many of them tourists, pass through Times Square every day, according to its official website.

Curry used 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range to lead seven Warriors scorers in double figures. They led 81-59 as they approached the midway mark of the third quarter. San Antonio's head coach, Greg Popovich, tried every combination of players to put a dent into the lead.

One fan of the Spurs is not taking this injury lightly and he plans on fighting back....in the courthouse. They did not get one: Aldridge scored only eight points on 4-11 shooting, and was attacked defensively.

"LaMarcus has to score for us", Popovich said. "He can't be timid".

Out of the gate, the speed, athleticism, and power was on a different level for the Celtics, who floundered in the first quarter and only found their footing on occasion. He can't do it. Scoring has to come from someplace.

Popovich was left perplexed and downright disgusted that his team got dominated in such embarrassing fashion without Leonard, who re-injured his tender left ankle in Game 1 after stepping on Pachulia's foot. Down by 31 in the second, Popovich opted to play his young guys.

Golden State continued to pile on. Curry was subbed out with 19 seconds remaining in the frame, and with the game well in hand, he'd remain on the bench for the rest of the night. He collapsed to the hardwood but still managed to grab Curry to no avail.

Pachulia ironically suffered a third-quarter heel injury from landing awkwardly on a dunk and had to leave the game. The Warriors never trailed in Game 2. "I don't think they believed, and you have to believe". I don't think as a group they really did, which means probably a little bit feeling sorry for themselves psychologically.

Golden State is looking for it to keep working for them as they prepare for Game 2 Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Oracle Arena. Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant led a Lakers team that swept Portland, Sacramento and San Antonio in the Western Conference playoffs. Golden State is now 10-0 in the playoffs.
