Trump Says He Has 'Absolute Right' To Share Intelligence With Russia

The White House has grown suspicious about the volume and timing of the seemingly never-ending stream of leaks about the president, said one senior administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity to reflect on the feeling inside the West Wing. Comey's written account of the meeting is two pages long and highly detailed, the associates said. Where that information may have come from and the reliability of its source were matters of conjecture.

Powell said: "This story is false".

"So to suggest that - which I think is the nut of the question - why wouldn't we want to share a common threat and the efforts that both countries are taking to eradicate a threat that we both feel?" However, since the information was divulged to top-level Russians, and Congressional Democrats are already pushing for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate alleged collusion between the Trump camp and Russia, that independent prosecutor - if named - might also be able to take this case into consideration. Equally as stunning is the fact that Trump misses the Russian Federation compromised Mike Flynn.

"Israel has full confidence in our intelligence-sharing relationship with the United States and looks forward to deepening that relationship in the years ahead under President Trump", Dermer said.

According to the Washington Post, Trump disclosed highly-classified details about an Islamic State plot to plant explosives on laptops with a view to blowing up commercial airliners, and named the city in Syria where an intelligence source is believed to have gathered the information.

Several Republicans expressed concern Tuesday about this drama-a-day White House.

The CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment Monday evening.

The White House acknowledged Trump made the decision essentially on the spot.

"And so I think the real issue, and I think what I'd like to see really debated more, is that our national security has been put at risk by those violating confidentiality, and those releasing information to the press that - that could be used, connected with other information available, to make American citizens and others more vulnerable".

"The president wasn't even aware where this information came from", he said.

Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he will ask Comey for additional material as part of the panel's investigation.

"Disclosing sensitive or classified information that wasn't even generated by us to hostile foreign governments will not only hamper our ability to get intelligence from our allies in the future, it will also undermine our ability to collect vital information we need to pursue our interests", she said.

Grassley said he didn't know himself whether the disclosures were problematic. Some of the most closely guarded secrets in intelligence work aren't what people know, it's how they know it.

McMaster also indicated that Trump could not have revealed sensitive sources or methods. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C., on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Mulvaney's confirmation hearing before the committee. "It could harm our national security by cutting off important sources of intelligence that protect Americans against terrorist acts", Wyden said.

The controversy engulfed the White House.

During an off-camera press gaggle Tuesday afternoon, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said he couldn't comment on the reports that Israel was the source, but he echoed Dermer's statement.

Chad also talked about his childhood saying, "Growing up, Michigan was definitely more popular than Michigan State". Unfortunately for Smith, Michigan hasn't had the upper hand in this rivalry in a while.
