Former FBI director James Comey is willing to testify before the Senate, but he will only do so in public, a close associate told The New York Times.

Later, however, deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Trump had actually been considering firing Comey for months, and that he had asked Sessions and Rosenstein for their recommendations.

"If there are any tapes they have to be turned over", Graham said.

Trump is mulling expanding the communications team and has eyed hiring producers from Fox News, according to one White House official. And BuzzFeed News reported a year ago that Trump listened in on calls made by staff at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
