Vox's Matt Yglesias wrote Tuesday night about the signs that the Republican wall around Trump and Russian Federation was showing signs of cracking. Sen.

King, who generally votes with the Democrats, said, "We don't want to get into the situation where we're charging our president based on any kind of political considerations".

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Trump had not passed on any secrets to Lavrov. The Times report cites a memo written by Comey, which appears to provide evidence Trump tried to influence the FBI's investigation into links between Russian Federation and Trump's campaign. The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that a European intelligence official warned that his country may stop sharing information with the U.S.as a result of Trump's disclosure.

For a start, the offer left everyone guessing about what kind of "record" Putin has of his diplomats' meeting with Trump.

McCain also reflected on the major headlines that have come out of the Trump White House almost every day for more than a week.

"Speaker Ryan has shown he has zero, zero, zero appetite for any investigation of President Trump", Cummings said.

Republicans and Democrats alike were eager to hear from Comey, who has increasingly emerged as a central figure in the unfolding drama. Charles Grassley welcomed Trump's firing of Comey, and told critics to 'Suck it up and move on, ' in an appearance on Fox News. He dismissed outrage over Trump's disclosures as USA politicians whipping up "anti-Russian sentiment".

If Trump does have taped conversations with Comey, they may well end up as part of an investigation into whether he fired Comey because he wouldn't end the Russia-related investigations.

"The only thing I can say is I think we've seen this movie before". "I hope you can let this go", the memo reportedly quotes Trump as saying. I guess that's why we won.

In defiant mood, the President added "adversity makes you stronger". Don't give in, don't back down. "And the more righteous your fight, the more opposition that you will face".

Amash reiterated that he thinks Congress needs to establish an independent commission to investigate Russia's interference in the 2016 US election and has signed onto Democratic-sponsored legislation that would do just that.

Trump says he's 'very close' to naming a new FBI director
The president has suggested he hopes to name Comey's successor before he departs Friday for his first overseas trip as president. Lieberman gave reporters a thumbs-up as he left the White House and said he and the president had a "good meeting".

This is the kind of conversation that rational, experienced presidents know not to have.

John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said late Tuesday that the developments had reached "Watergate size and scale".

House Republican Justin Amash of MI said that it may have been an abuse of his office.

According to reports of the memo's contents, the president asked the other people present in the Oval Office at the time, including Vice President Mike Pence and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, to leave the room. Mark Warner, said he is pretty confident Comey will testify and hopes the "majority" of what the ousted Federal Bureau of Investigation director says will be in an open-hearing setting.

Trump removed Comey in the middle of an FBI investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 USA presidential election, and possible ties between Trump's campaign and Russia.

The FBI declined to comment and the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

What does Michael Flynn's resignation mean for Trump?

The intensifying drama comes as Trump is set to embark Friday on his first foreign trip, which had been optimistically viewed by some aides as an opportunity to reset an administration floundering under an inexperienced president.

The committee made the requests Wednesday in two separate letters, one to Comey and one to McCabe.

The memo could border on "the legal definition of obstruction of justice", he said.
