After a week of teasing her upcoming project, Selena Gomez has finally given fans some new music.

Talking Heads' David Byrne reportedly gave "Bad Liar" his blessing.

The track samples the baseline from Talking Head's 1977 hit Psycho Killer.

"Bad Liar" is smart and streamlined, with percussion in the forms of snaps and handclaps and Gomez's voice multi-tracked to augment the urgency. She is one of the executive producers, and following its runaway success, it's been confirmed that a second season will air next year.

"Selena and Julia are Talking Heads-obsessed", Tranter told Variety.

But who is the song about?

"Bad Liar" aligns quite nicely with the sonic stripping-down trend several pop artists are trying out right now. The song has not yet been on the radio yet, but expect it to be there very soon! Rumors are now leaking when the lyrics of the song are accidentally exposed: "I put my bags and I'm leaving you, You've been nothing but, a bad liar, bad liar". So does that mean the single is about her boyfriend, The Weeknd?

This is not the first time that Gomez addresses Justin in her songs. Sound off in the comments section and share your thoughts! What about the bass line?
