The sins Earhardt was referring to were the sexual harassment allegations leveled against Ailes by several women, including one-time Fox & Friends host Gretchen Carlson, who says she was sacked after rebuffing Ailes's sexual advances.

It must have been painful for Ailes to see President Trump stumbling so badly - failing every media test thrown his way. The network eventually unseated CNN as the highest-rated cable news network and became one of the most popular cable networks of all genres, reaching more than 90 million households. The government is looking into whether Fox News failed to inform shareholders about settlements made with employees who accused Ailes of sexual harassment.
