The Washington Redskins hope Nico Marley becomes known more for his football ability.

The Washington Redskins have signed the grandson of legendary reggae musician Bob Marley, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Nico impressed at a rookie camp at the Redskins' team headquarters and was added to the NFC East franchise's roster earlier this week.

Reporter Mike Jones wrote in the Washington Post that the 22-year-old has been working as a linebacker with the team, and also mentioned that Three Little Birds had been playing over the sound system during a warm-up. He had 319 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks and four interceptions in 49 games.

Nike's ambitious Breaking2 event may have fallen just short of the coveted record, but still proved to be an exciting endeavor. The marathon world record fell precipitously from the start of the century and slowed shortly after Bannister's sub-four mile.

"I'm so grateful to Tulane for giving me my only Division I opportunity, but I knew they had some doubts about me". He was a two-time first-team All-American Athletic Conference pick over his last two college seasons.

Nico's father, Rohan Marley, played at linebacker for the Hurricanes at University of Miami (Florida) alongside Dwayne Johnson, Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis.

"Every individual is supposed to have something he wants to go get, something he wants so bad he don't need anybody's help".
