Until the new stadium is built, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis has said he plans to continue to play the team's home games at the Oakland Coliseum. With today's go-ahead, the lease will be sent to NFL owners for their approval at next week's league spring meeting in Chicago.

Owners can now vote on ratifying the lease at this month's meetings.

The public entity that oversees the proposed stadium where the Raiders want to start playing in 2020 has approved a conditional lease agreement for the facility. Mortenson Construction will take the lead in building the $1.9 billion stadium that will sit on the 62 acre lot across from the Mandalay Bay and the 15.

Raiders President Marc Badain said at last week's board meeting that if the lease could not be settled before the National Football League meetings on Monday and Tuesday, the team would delay its move to Las Vegas until the 2021 season.
