Adam "Pacman" Jones has officially avoided serious legal trouble in his latest off-field incident, but that does not mean the Cincinnati Bengals cornerback is off the hook with the league. He was arrested in 2005 with a misdemeanor assault and a felony vandalism charge. A judge dismissed two other misdemeanor charges - assault and disorderly conduct - and sentenced Jones to two days of time already served. He is still subject to National Football League discipline.

He also faced charges of harassment with a bodily substance, which is a felony, after allegedly spitting on a nurse who works for the jail's medical staff. "We have no timetable on any potential discipline".

"I'd like to apologize for my actions that night, to the police officer, that is not an example of me or how I want my kids to see me", Jones said in court on Tuesday.

A video released by the Cincinnati police showed Jones cursing at the officer while in the back of a police auto and telling him "I hope you die tomorrow".

This led to Jones taking anger management and alcohol-abuse treatment after the arrest.

"I truly apologize for what I did, for my actions".

All are governments that have pressed the United States over six years of civil war in Syria to intervene more forcefully. The statement was released on Tuesday.

Pacman apologized for his actions in court - telling the judge he's trying to become a better person and his actions that night were not a true representation of the real Adam Jones.
