Paul Pierce says Celtics should trade No. 1 overall pick

New York's pick will ultimately be determined by the seven players that get taken ahead of them, but one thing about the Knicks' pick does seem to be pretty clear-it won't be a big man. Despite being taken with the No. 8 pick, Stauskas only started one game his rookie season despite playing for an bad Kings team. According to the team's general manager "I think it is a great draft & if we don't get lucky, we will get someone very good at #11".

Celtics fans know the team's history at the draft lottery all too well, and so does Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck. In today's National Basketball Association, picks are very valuable.

Taking full advantage of the payout stemming from Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett's move from Boston to the Nets, the Celtics find themselves with yet another draft-day conundrum: keep the pick or package it for a proven star. If the Lakers would have dropped outside of the top three, their pick would have gone to the Philadelphia 76ers (who will be picking third overall, thanks to a pick swap with the Sacramento Kings) as part of a trade from a few years back. Bring him in before the max salaries kick in. The second scenario is quite common in the NBA Draft. The center/power forward has played 10 seasons in the league for five different teams and is now with the Timberwolves.

Ntilikina didn't play college basketball past year, but the French point guard has plenty of upside. Ray Allen had taken his talents to South Beach, and the Celtics title window had closed.

Birthplace of grunge mourns 'Seattle's son' Chris Cornell
Below are seven facts about Chris Cornell and Soundgarden . "The cause of death has been determined as hanging by suicide". Cornell was roommates with Andrew Wood, lead singer of the Mother Love Bone, who died of a heroin overdose in 1990.

It will be interesting to see what happens during the draft on June 22nd but Michael Jordan and Rich Cho will definitely have a say in who the team selects. Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball won't be available by then, and so would De'Aaron Fox. Kelly Olynyk is a restricted free agent after this season, and a team could make a big offer after his breakout postseason performance. There's little reason to blow this up in favor of a star who wrecks their future flexibility and accelerates the timeline to win now when the roster may simply not be ready for that.

Trading the pick is an option as well. "If you can acquire a Paul George, Jimmy Butler, or Gordon [Hayward] from Utah, you have to do it". However, this night could be a fateful one for the franchise in more ways than one.

All Celtics fans need to mail a gift basket to Billy King. Admittedly, this is the least likely route the Lakers would take - as the front office seems to be absolutely in love with the playmaking - and marketing - ability of Ball.
