Two US officials said on Monday Trump had disclosed classified information about a planned Islamic State operation to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov when they met last week, plunging the White House into a fresh controversy just four months into Trump's tenure. "I'm not going to take a memo, I want the guy to come in", said Sen. "Our job is to be responsible, sober and focus only on gathering the facts".

Putin has cordial relations with Trump, unlike his previous acrimonious relationship with Barack Obama- Reuters picMOSCOW, May 17 - Vladimir Putin said today that US President Donald Trump had not divulged any secrets during a meeting in Washington with Russian officials and offered to prove it by supplying Congress with a transcript. "I'm sure we're going to go on to hear from Mr. Comey about why, if this happened as he allegedly describes, why didn't he take action at the time?".

Along with Russian Federation and Comey-related inquires, Ryan could also face questions about the health care bill, which is now making its way through the Senate.

USA stocks and the dollar sold off and bond prices rallied as investors fled risky assets amid uncertainty about Trump's ability to deliver on his policy agenda, such as tax and regulatory changes.

The President also suggested that the investigation now being headed by Mr. Mueller was motivated by an attempt by Democrats to explain away "having lost an election that they should have easily won because of the Electoral College being slanted so much in their way".

Comey told Trump he should not contact him directly about FBI investigations but follow procedure and have the White House counsel ask the Justice Department, which oversees the FBI, the Times reported.

As special counsel, Mueller will have full authorization to direct the Russia investigation, including any links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with Trump's campaign, and any other matters.

No group including the Taliban insurgents or any other terrorist group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. USA military convoys usually undertake missions together with Afghan security forces.

Putin, who still hopes Moscow can fix battered ties with the United States despite a deepening political scandal in the United States related to Trump's purported Russian Federation ties, said Moscow had rated Lavrov's meeting with Trump highly.

It would be significant if more Republicans began to talk about impeaching the president, as the party holds a majority in both chambers of Congress.

On Tuesday, the Republican chairman of a House oversight committee, Jason Chaffetz, set a May 24 deadline for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to produce all relevant material relating to any communications between Comey and Trump.

Ryan declined to wade into whether Trump obstructed justice - a crime under United States law. That was followed by a controversial meeting between Trump and high-profile Russian officials. His comments also were stricken from an internal memo and a transcript of the meeting was shared with only a small group of people.

"Unfortunately the administration has given such conflicting information, the president's own tweets at times seem to contradict the statements made by staff", she said. After the news broke of the Comey memo, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., stood in the chamber and said, "I say to all of my colleagues in the Senate - history is watching". Schiff said impeachment is "not something to be lightly entertained".

Asked how Republicans will still get their work done, Conaway said, "Well, you get up every morning, put your shoes on and go to work". This would be considered obstruction of justice which is an impeachable offense.

The comments attributed to President Trump cross a risky line.
