Corey Clement is going to learn a lot from LeGarrette. So if the Lions meant to make a major upgrade at the position, they've missed their chance.

Blount's earning power in will be less than New England Patriots offseason additions Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead.

With LeGarrette Blount deciding to take the Eagles' offer this morning, one of the more interesting subplots might be the teams he spurned.

Bob Quinn has publicly expressed confidence in his current group of running backs and his actions have matched his words.

Blizzard now will be committed to adding a timer with the season end times, it's now moving to a shorter off-season cadence. Don't get too excited though because the contents of the Game of the Year edition are rather lacklustre to say the least.

Eagles fans should be very excited about this upcoming season. Sproles will actually turn 34 in June. Blount's contribution to the comp pick formula remains to be seen. Last season, Mathews only piled up 155 carries, while coaches mixed in Wendell Smallwood, Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner. In 2016, he rushed for 1,168 yards and 18 touchdowns. This is likely Sproles' previous year, too, so the Eagles could reshape their backfield for 2018. He averaged just under six carries a game, and I expect him to fall to that range again. They needed a running back with the size and physicality of a linebacker.

Brandon Bolden and DJ Foster are also on the running-back depth chart, as is undrafted rookie LeShun Daniels Jr.

He set career highs with 1,161 rushing yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns last season, which ranks as the 15th-highest total in NFL history and the most since Adrian Peterson's 18 in 2009. They will need to release a player to open a roster spot for Blount. The signing of Blount is a short-term deal that gives Wentz a guy to hand the ball off to in the redzone.

"We're always looking for complementary players when we go over our roster and positions", Eagles VP of football operations Howie Roseman said at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesdy. You cannot only bring him in on third and short situations because it clues the defense in on what you're running by having a specialist in the game.
