The match that began at 8:00 pm (IST) on Wednesday finished close to 1:30 am (IST) Thursday thanks to a lengthy rain delay that kept both the teams waiting for close to 2.5 hours after SRH were restricted to 128/7. They lost 4 wickets in their chase of 81 from 6 overs against SRH in 2015. There have been total of 7 Eliminator matches in IPL history but on no previous occasion the overs were reduced due to any reason. We'll never know. But there's this: KKR deserved to win this; they bossed the entire first innings, and despite hiccups early in the chase, Gambhir had the ability, and the nerve, to calm things down and guide his team home. This season, the league match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad was cancelled after surprise showers lashed the city of Bengaluru. Their performance has fallen a lot in the last few games that have resulted in them in finishing at the 4th position. But, the team that wins this match will also not go to the final.

Warner welcomed Piyush Chawla by dumping him over mid-wicket and not long after raised his 4000th run in IPL cricket with a towering six. The bowlers restricting the Sunrisers batting to 128 was brilliant. Unfortunately, the opening couples didn't performed well and also the the team started their slow run at the beginning of the match.

"But we don't have a good record against Mumbai Indians, so we definitely want to better that", the skipper said.

Kane Williamson and Vijay Shankar were marked their 24 and 22 runs in the scoreboard after Warner's god play. Coulter-Nile leaked just three runs from the penultimate over with Trent Boult (1/30) allowing just seven in the final over also taking the wicket of Naman Ojha (16) off the final ball.

The experiment to open the batting with Sunil Narine didn't yield anything as the Trinidadian was set up by the short-ball strategy and dismissed for nought in the first over. Chris Lynn made a brisk 26 (14 balls, 3 fours, 2 sixes) before he pulled a short delivery straight to the man patrolling the midwicket boundary in the seventh over.

Uthappa was the next to walk, as the Knight Riders flirted with disaster.

After three wickets in the first two overs, the KKR's captain arrive to score 27 runs in remainning four overs. KKR will take on Mumbai Indians on Friday at the same venue.

Starting with the openers, Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine are responsible for denting the opponents in the Power Play - they have been successful more often than not.

KKR Coach Jacques Kallis must have made a note of the vulnerability - Knight Riders lost too many wickets in an attempt to accelerate the inning without any game plan.

Toss: KKR, who chose to bowl.
