Google's 'Find My Device' app is the next-gen Android Device Manager

Among the announcements were some of the features coming to the next version of the Android operating system, Android O, and updates coming to Google Assistant and Google Home.

Like its Android counterpart, Google Assistant on iOS answers your questions - from general knowledge, news and weather, local business opening times, and calendar appointments. With Google Lens, Google is essentially doing what Samsung tried to do with Bixby, except Google will probably get it right.

You can find out the type of flower by pointing at it, for example, or get reviews for a restaurant you're walking by. Over the next few months, Google will roll out new features and partners that will take the battle for home supremacy to the next level.

Google announced today a change to its Google Play platform that will allow app makers to now place ads on the Google Play home page and app listing pages. Google will also let you share whole photos libraries with others.

Google is providing the latest peek at its digital services and gadgets, initially offering a major focus on its efforts to extend artificial intelligence features into more of its apps and services. The event will happen on Wednesday during Google's annual conference where thousands of computer programmers will be present.

The company is also giving the crowd a look at new twists in its Android software for mobile devices, which powers more than 80 percent of the world's smartphones. Some of the unveiled products won't be out until later this year.

Google Assistant, the center of its AI efforts, is in a fierce battle with rivals such as Amazon's Alexa, Microsoft Cortana and Apple's Siri to be the top choice for use in smartphones as well as connected homes, cars and a range of other devices.
