"London, May 19 The medical examiner from Wayne County has confirmed Soundgarden frontman Cornell/33878" target=_blank Chris Cornell committed suicide by hanging.

Cornell's body was found in his hotel room at the MGM Grand in downtown Detroit. Representatives for the band called his death "sudden and unexpected".

Dushanka Bojicic said on The Oakland Press' Facebook page: "Horrible news".

"Chris was a great father", the source adds. He was in high spirits as well, frequently cheering the audience's enthusiastic response. "I have bragged about Detroit crowds for 30 years. There's no other crowd that never, ever disappoints".

Cornell played a seminal role in the origins of grunge music, founding Soundgarden in 1984 with Kim Thayil and Hiro Yamamoto.

The appointment is certain to soothe nerves at the F.B.I., where agents have felt under siege by Mr. Comey and his repeated criticism of their investigation into Russian interference in the election.

"There's something about losing friends, particularly young people, where it's not something that you get over", Cornell told Vulture. In 2011, Cornell was ranked ninth on Rolling Stone list of the best lead singers of all-time, selected by its readers.

While the autopsy is complete, the autopsy report will take some time to finish, possibly because of toxicology tests. "A full autopsy report has not yet been completed", the Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement after conducting an initial autopsy.

Cornell was a physical rock singer all the way, dredging his best lyrics from the bottom of his being and blasting them out at the top of his lungs. Chris Cornell was lucky enough to be born with a siren in his throat, and when it first pricked the nation's eardrums in 1991, he was warning us that a new generation of hairy rock groups was about to reconquer the planet.

Cornell also helped form the band Audioslave in 2001 and had a solo career. He was widely respected in the music industry: He reached success in every band lineup he was part of it, his voice was memorable and powerful, and he was a skilled songwriter, even collaborating on a number of film soundtracks, including the James Bond theme song for 2006's "Casino Royale" and "The Keeper" from the film "Machine Gun Preacher", which earned Cornell a Golden Globe nomination.

Cornell leaves behind two sons and a daughter from two marriages. "Prayers and sympathy to his family". "He will be missed".
